Sheffield – Introducing ns0.pipeten.co.uk
As part of the ongoing programme to improve our service we have implemented a new nameserver into our hosting cluster called ns0.pipeten.co.uk and located in our Derby point of presence.
In order to take advantage of the new nameserver, domain names must be updated to include ns0.pipeten.co.uk in addition to the existing ns1.pipeten.co.uk and ns2.pipeten.co.uk nameserver records.
Instructions for Users:
If your domain is registered with Pipe Ten using the hosting control panel or domain management systems then you don’t need to do anything as we will be automatically be updating your domain to use the new nameserver over the coming days.
If your domain is registered with a third party then we recommend you contact your domain provider/registrar and update the nameservers to:
ns0.pipeten.co.uk
ns1.pipeten.co.uk
ns2.pipeten.co.ukUpdate 01/10/2009 – Some customers have asked what to-do if their domain registrar only allows the use of two nameservers. In this situation please use ns0.pipeten.co.uk and ns1.pipeten.co.uk for the best network diversity and speed.
If you have any questions with respect to this modification please raise a support ticket in your hosting control panel with the title “yourdomain.ext – ns0 support”.
Instructions for Resellers:
1) Login to your hosting management control panel and navigate to “E. Manager” > “Server Aliases”. You should see the new “ns0.yourservicedomain.ext” below the text “Reseller`s DNS server aliases” and then click “Submit” directly below “ns2.servicedomain.ext” to activate the new nameserver for your customers.
2) Update your “nameserver host records” (also known as “domain glue records”) for your “yourservicedomain.ext” with your domain name registrar, you must add the host record “ns0″ pointing to the IP address “89.248.50.4″. For help with performing this modification please contact your domain registrar.
3) You can now update the nameservers on your customer’s domains adding “ns0.yourservicedomain.ext” to complement the existing “ns1.yourservicedomain.ext” and “ns2.yourservicedomain.ext” nameservers
If you have any questions with respect to this modification please raise a support ticket within your reseller hosting control panel with the title “ns0.yourservicedomain.ext – reseller support”.
