WordPress 4.7.5 – Security & Maintenance Release

A new version of WordPress has been released comprised of 6 security fixes. WordPress users are advised to update to 4.7.5 immediately.

WordPress 4.7.5

WordPress versions 4.7.5 and earlier are affected by six security issues. We advise all WordPress users to update their websites to the latest version to prevent the abuse of these issues.

Security Issues

  • 2 vulnerabilities within the XML-RPC API
  • 2 cross-site scripting vulnerabilities
  • A cross site request forgery vulnerability
  • Insufficient redirect validation in the HTTP class

We advise all WordPress users to update to 4.7.5 immediately to prevent the risk of a site compromise.

Updating WordPress is as simple as navigating to Dashboard → Updates and clicking Update Now or alternatively by downloading directly.
Your website may be up to date if your site supports automatic background updates, so in cases there may be no need to manually update.
