Moving from Pipe Ten’s Dublin servers to UK servers

Friday, December 5th, 2008

Customers that are hosted on our Irish servers based in Dublin that would like to move over to our UK based servers can now do so with relative ease. Customers hosted in the UK can benefit from more advanced features such as SQL Server 2005, .NET 3.5, PHP 4 & 5 on a per domain basis, customisable virus and spam filtering, comprehensive backups and easily installable open source software. Customers do have to migrate their website’s data themselves but Pipe Ten will set them up with an account with a FREE month on it to help ease the migration. Pipe Ten would also obviously migrate any unused credit over when customers close the Dublin based account.

If you are interested in taking advantage of this please contact support who will be able to assist setting up your new account.

More useful tips on migrating from one hosting account to another can be found at here.

Can I switch my account between Linux and Windows?

Thursday, October 2nd, 2008

There is currently no automatic way of migrating between platforms (Windows to Linux or Linux to Windows).  If you do need to switch you’ll need to purchase the opposing account, add the domains and manually migrate all your data across.  Once you are happy with the setup, request for the old account to be closed and we’ll transfer the remaining balance to the new account so you don’t lose out financially.
